outlook 2010  error message
i just bought home and office 2010 for the outlook 2010. when it tried to load my verizon email there was a connection issue. some how i pushed a button about microsoft exchange and now when i load up outlook 2010 i get the following message. the connection to microsoft exchange is unavailable. outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. when i push the cancel button the box pops up asking for the microsoft exchange server when i push cancel everything closes. i have uninstalled the program and reinstalled to no avail. always same results. what can i do?

If you go to the Control Panel and open the Mail application, are there any profiles defined in the Show Profiles button? If so, delete them. Have my own web site with Outlook 2010 email was able to use my own server for pop/smtp while with Comcast and after switching over to Verizon fios this past week, cannot send through my own web/mail server. Tried the same port I used through Comcast (995), tried Verizon tech recommended port 587 and also "default" settings. The ONLY UGLY way to send was by using my verizon login to Verizon and setting "Reply To" for now. Verizon either keeps their techs purposely ignorant or their IT doesn't have a clue or don't care about their paying customers. As a previous administrator of DNS/mail/web servers, it appears Verizon is incapable of properly managing their servers.
